How do I become a pet carer?

Edited

You can apply to become a carer here.

There are 4 parts the approval process, here is our quick step by step guide to ensure your profile is approved quickly!

1. The application form – this consists of a series of pet-related scenarios so we can see how you'd respond to each one. There's also a little quiz about how the site works and your past experience. (Hint, hint: it’s a good idea to have a read through the FAQs on our site – most of the answers are in there.)

2. Your profile – here you need to fill in your first and last name, telephone number, full address (including house name/number) and your mugshot! There's also an “about you” section, which is your chance to show a potential client that you're the best person to look after their precious pet. Be sure to include any past experience and tell them all about your passion for pets!

  1. ID and proof of address – at the end of the application form, we'll ask you for photographic ID and proof of address. Photo ID would be a passport, driving licence, national ID card, student card, NHS card etc. Proof of address might be a bank statement, council tax bill, tenancy agreement, utility bill, and so on.

  2. Card verification – as a safety measure, we ask all our carers to connect a UK bank card to their Tailster account.

After you’ve completed these four steps one of the Tailster team will check over your account. If we have all the correct documents, we'll approve your account and you can get stuck into life as an official Tailster carer!
